Nicolas Cage, Amber Heard, William Fichtner, and Patrick Lussier showed up for the Drive Angry panel, a supernatural “hard- R” action flick tracing the bloody revenge of a father (Cage) chasing down the evildoers that killed his daughter, all while being hunted by The Accountant (Fichtner), an otherworldly collector for the devil. Cage seemed less energetic than his last appearance at Comic-Con, but still had a chuckle at our question to Amber Heard: “On the set, did Nicolas Cage act more like a Big Daddy or a Bad Lieutenant?” Cage told Heard to tell the truth and she joked that he was a bit of both, but it was an honor to star with the legendary actor. Another humorous inquiry questioned Cage’s apparent affinity with characters who are trying to escape from hell, to which the actor joked “You mean like my life right now?” The footage and trailers shown displayed plenty of action and violence, all in eye-popping 3D.
