The Answer Man (titled Arlen Faber at Sundance)
The Opening Night Film is “The Answer Man” starring Jeff Daniels and Lauren Graham and premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Following the screening there will be a Q&A with director John Hindman.
Closing out the film festival will be the Arizona premiere of “Love N Dancing” starring Amy Smart, Tom Malloy and Billy Zane. Amy Smart and Tom Malloy will participate in a discussion after the film.
A spaceship crash in 1957 California leads to the escape of the Ghota, a murderous monster bent on destroying all life forms. In order to capture the Ghota, a benevolent alien named Urp takes over the body of an astronomer (Eric McCormack) and enlists the aid of a waitress named Tammy (Jenni Baird) . But, unless Urp and Tammy are successful, mankind is doomed.
The Arizona Premiere of 500 Days of Summer will be Wednesday, April 8th at 7:20. See this offbeat comedy before it's released this summer by Fox Searchlight. It stars Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel.
The World Premiere of Official Rejection will be Saturday, April 4
at 7:00pm. Official Rejection is a behind the scenes look at the world
of film festivals. It features interviews with Kevin Smith, Jenna Fisher,
Andy Dick, Chris Gore,
Lloyd Kaufman, Troy Duffy and Bryan Singer.
The Merry Gentleman will be having it's Arizona Premiere at the 2009 Phoenix Film Festival. The film is directed by Michael Keaton and stars Kelly MacDonald and Michael Keaton. The film will screen Sunday, April 5th at 7:00pm.
For years, Aaron Tyler (Johnathon Schaech, Quarantine, Prom Night) has been getting together with his three best friends Monday nights to play poker. But tonight, everything is about to change forever when the men accidentally kill a burglar who’s broken into Aaron’s house.

Jolene screens Friday, April 3rd at 7:30pm at the 2009 Phoenix Film Festival. The film was made locally and produced by Riva Yares and stars Chazz Palminteri, Dermot Mulroney, Theresa Russell, Denise Richards and Jessica Chastain.
Disney's latest feature film "Earth" will screen on Saturday, April 4th at 4:00pm. The documentary which is family friendly is narrated by James Earl Jones.
